CONSTRUCTION OF LARGEST WICKES RETAIL STORE IN UK

Sheffield based building contractor, BDB Design Build Ltd have recently completed the Construction of a 60,000 sq ft Wickes Retail store at Maidstone, Kent- currently the largest in the country.

Procured by a design and build contract for London based developer Harbourside Investments the £3.5m project was completed on time in thirty weeks and transformed a former old gas works site into a modern streamlined building development.

Many aspects of the external works involved the use of expensive conservation materials for the paving and kerbing works to ensure the project complimented adjoining areas of Maidstone.

The building is due to open in Mid October 2004.
